DIY Thigh Chain !

Philippines is a tropical country, that's why I wear shorts 70% of the time. And what is a better way to accentuate those long slender legs than these thigh chains? This unique accessory will surely draw attention to those legs, ladies. Its very cheap and so easy to do! So if you want to know how its made, keep scrolling!

Materials you will need:
 - Chain
 - Jump rings
 - Garter
 - Ruler
 - Pliers

The chain and jump rings I bought from Wellmanson in Quiapo. If you wanna know where to find the said store, click here to read my old blog post about it. If you can see, 5 yards of chain only costs 55 php (less than $2) and the jump rings cost 22 php ($0.50) for 200 pcs.

Again, Wellmason has a wide variety of chains. Silvers and golds. Different styles and different thickness. You can choose whatever kind you want.

Since I dont have any garter onhand, I just used an old bra strap. That way its much more comfortable for the skin.

How to:

1. Measure the garter or strap around your thigh. Make sure its not too tight but also tight enough that it wont slip down.
2. Once you've done that, sew the ends of the garter or strap together.
3. From the length of chain, cut 4 pieces measuring 6 inches in length.
4. With a jump ring, attach the 6-inch chains to the strap making sure that they are equidistant from each other. (See below) Lets call this Chains A
Just poke the jump ring through and close it with your pliers. In the end you will have four sections divided by those four chains.

5. Cut 12 or 16 pieces of chains measuring 5 and a half inches each. Likeso. These, we will call Chains B.
Around this step, you can choose whether to use three strands per section or four strands. If its three strand, attach the Chains B to A with jump ring every 2 inches starting from the ends. If its four strands per section then attach B to A every 1.5 inches starting from the ends.

The first section will be the hardest, but the trick is to lay the chain A along your ruler so you get an exact measure on where to attach chains B. Once you move on to the next sections, just attach chains B to the previous jump ring you used in the first section.
(Pardon the messy table :P)

Someone decided to help me make it. Haha ! :)

Once you are finished attaching all Chains B to all the sections then you're done! Try it on with your favorite shorts or skirts. Just remember to pull it high enough so that the strap wont show.

There you go ladies, you now have your very own fab thigh chain! It only took me about an hour to do maybe more because the chains I used are quite hard to bend. Well, that's quality product from Wellmanson for you. :) and it only cost me less that a hundred pesos! How cool is that?! :)

If you loved it and decided to make one for yourself, I'd really like it if you could tag me on instagram: @ashluzadio11 so I can see your recreations! :)

That's it! Channel your creativity and craft away! See you again soon!

Easy shortbread cookies!

Hey ladies. Time to take a break from all that dieting and reward yourself with this pretty awesome and super easy to bake shortbread cookies. And it only has three ingredients that I'm sure you have in your kitchen right now!

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
- 1/2 cup white sugar or confectioner sugar
- 2 cups flour

Tools you will need:
- mixing bowl
- hand mixer or stand mixer
- measuring cups
- cookie tray
- rollng pin
- cookie cutter or cookie press so you dont have to roll the dough.
- wax paper or cookie sheet
- wire cooling rack

Step:
1. Preheat oven to 350*F or 180*C.
2. In a bowl, mix butter and sugar until white and fluffy. Use a stand mixer or a hand mixer for this. When that's done, mix in the flour. Keep mixing until it creates a dough. Tip: Dont freak out if its crumbly at first, just keep mixing or knead the dough.
3. In a flour-dusted even surface, roll the dough to about 1/4 inch thick with a rolling pin also dusted with flour. (I used confectioner sugar instead for extra sweetness) Cut with your favorite cookie cutter and carefully place in cookie tray covered with wax paper or cookie sheet. Best use a spatula in transfering the cookies.
4. Place inside oven and let it bake for 15-20 minutes.
5. When its done, the cookies will be slightly soft to the touch. Now, stop poking it! Let it cool for a few minutes before trasferring to a wire cooling rack.
6. Once its thoroughly cool, serve and watch it disappear!

Because this cookie is very sweet, I like to wash it down with milk.

You can also bake these cookies for the holidays, leave it beside by the fireplace for Santa to eat when he comes over to deliver gifts

Keep scrolling for more pictures.

That teardrop shaped cookie is the last dough.

With this recipe I already made two dozen cookies with 1 1/2 inch diameter cookie cutter.

Make sure to try this recipe! Happy baking!

Nail Art Supplies Shopping

Almost two years ago, my passion for nail art was born. Back then I always used free hand technique. But lately, I've been obsessing over nail art stamping. So my boyfriend and I went to Divisoria yesterday. There are a number of nail art stalls in there where you can purchase everything you need for nail arts. My favorite store, where I always buy my nail art goodies, is Hug Nail Art & Accessories , stall IE-9 Bldg.2 999 Shopping Mall. The nice sales lady who assisted me said that their place is where nail artists go for their professional needs. Not only professionals, but seeing the crowd around the store, I'd say they even cater to beginners. We actually missed the store when we passed because of all the people gathered around the place.
I looked at the stamping plates they have on display. The small round and rectangular ones with 5 to 6 designs per plate that cost P100 each. But unfortunately the designs where too small to fit my nails. It would so bitin and I didn't want that. We were ready to turn away when the sales lady called us and said that they are selling bigger plates for a higher price. She showed me a plate containing about 40-60 designs which costs P500. And their biggest plate containing 208 designs for P1000. I really wanted the biggest plate coz it comes along with a FREE set of stamping nail polishes and stamper. Besides if I compare the number of designs I'll get between the two, I'll go for the P1000. Wouldn't you? But that was too expensive for me and I already bought a few things before we found that stall so I was already a little below budget. :(
Thankfully, I brought an angel with me. :) And seeing my eyes twinkle with longing for that plate, he went and looked for an ATM machine and paid for plate! Am I not the luckiest, most spoiled girlfriend there is? Oh, how I love this man. <3 Normally, I wouldn't let him buy anything expensive for me. I dunno, it feels kinda wrong. >.< But I really wanted this plate so much, so I let him. :)

Below are the pictures for the plate and the free polishes and stamper.

HUGE, isn't it?
I also bought quite a few more things for my nail art collection:
BNC top coat (P50)

BK Silver Glitter, sand polish (P100)

Caviars and velvet. (3 for P100)

The velvet.

Red caviar. I was a little sad, this one is only half full compared to the assorted and velvet but they say its just the way it is. :(

A detail brush for free hand nail arts (P30)

Gold striping tape (P50)

And below are the picture of my entire haul:

With all this, I am one happy girl! :)

That's all. Happy shopping girls! :)

Hello Soft and Shiny Hair, We're Back In Business!

My hair went through a lot of rebonding and cellophanes that when this year's summer came, I was in a bad hair day everyday! It was so coarse and dry. Specially the tips. If you saw my hair, you'd think: "Major damage" and you'd cringe away fearing that if your skin gets in contact with it, you'd get rashes. Imagine the horror. >.<

I tried to use the Lorys Hair cream, but unfortunately, its effects doesn't last. Yes , my hair would be soft during the day i used it but that's as far as it goes. When I go to bed and wake up in the morning or go out for a couple of hours, my hair goes back to its sorry state.

We have been using the Cream Silk Hair Conditioners for years. But now that my hair has come to this, it was time to get something new. then came these two amazing products that I truly consider my hair heroes.

Dove Damage Repair Conditioner
I use the Intensive Repair and Straight and Silky. They are both labeled 'damage repair' but the bottom picture is more expensive than the other and it is made of more ingredients. The consistency of the bottom one is thicker and its in white and light yellow-brown color in compared with the top one which is in color white only. I'd say the bottom one works better when it comes to results.

and

Pantene Daily Intensive Conditioners
I use Smooth and Silky. Do you see that '80% more conditioning ingredients' at the bottom of the tube? Well, its not a lie. This is not another case of false advertising people, this is FOR REAL! Hands down, the best conditioner I've tried besides Elsive.

These conditioners did wonders to my hair. From coarse and frizzy to smooth and silky! (I managed to make that rhyme! LOL) And it stays that way for eight hours. [ or maybe I just don't comb my hair often enough that's why it doesn't last longer than that. Coz its just too darn long, its tiring! >.< ]

Here is ab unedited, no filter picture of my hair under fluorescent light.

Sorry for the quality of this picture. I have better ones below.

Excuse my titties. :P

Despite the picture quality, I promise its shiny and smooth. Those pictures were taken after I spent the whole day out shopping and stuff! And i only rode jeepneys, not taxi mind you. Also it minimized the damage at the tips of my hair. Coz that used to be copper in color due to split ends. >.< Now, I can run my fingers through my hair easily.

I totally recommend this product. Its available in supermarkets and drugstores for a price less than a hundred and fify pesos.

In addition to the above, I also use Snoe Hair Haroes Intense PM Repair : Argan Oil before I sleep to help repair the damaged hair and promote hair growth; and Snoe Body Recipes Sweet Hair and Body Glaze during the day. I know the latter is more of a fragrant body oil but it works for my hair too.

And that's it for my post! Have beautiful hair day girls! :)

Headbands and Watches: Bargain!

First week of class is over! So far so good. Specially now that I'm a graduating student and currently taking On-The-Training. And because of that I need to wear semi-corporate or corporate attire all the time. And in order to complete my look, I need me some accessories! Actually, I still have a lot of accessories so I don't think I need to buy more for now. What I don't have are headbands and watches! So I went to  one of my trusted kikay havens: Quiapo!

[ You can find all these stores at Villalobos Street , Quiapo ]

First I went to DIY Beads  to get these headbands.

I'm really loving this color nowadays. I also have it on my nails for more than a week now.

This headband is so simple yet very cute. I can use for going out on dates with Jae or hanging out at the mall or just every day use.

Okay, I know this one can't be appropriate for OJT, but I've been looking for a cheap spikes headband for ages! And all I've seen were about P200-P300 from Anime Conventions and Korean stores. This one cost me for only P35! See the difference!? So I'm like, "Finally!" [Blue one costs the same]

So after buying those headbands, I went a little farther down the street (about fifteen steps!) to Wellmanson and checked out what new stocks they had. And lo! I found this beautiful watches for only P85 (white and pink) and P100 (black) !

First is this pink mustache watch! Come on, who doesn't love mustache design? They also have this in Paris or Eiffel Tower. I spent quite some time debating over the two, but then mustache won, apparently.
Good thing about Wellmanson is they have  a wide range of variety, not only designs but also colors. Every product has five up to a dozen colors to choose from.

Next, is this very elegant black and gold watch. The strap is more on bracelet rather than the usual watch. Its very comfortable to wear because the material seem to be made from strips of foam covered with shiny textile. This also comes in different colors and designs.

It has a beautiful rose design in the middle! And I so dig roses!

Lastly, is this simple and sophisticated white and gold watch. Its a Michael Kors faux. Perfect, because my bag is a Michael Kors.

As a bonus, I found this nautical anchor bracelet for only P38. Again, this comes in different colors. I had to silently argue with myself over the baby pink and this Tiffany blue. (I know, the color doesn't look like it in these pictures, sorry! ) But since Tiffany blue is my color these days, i chose this one.

So in total, I spent P293 for all of these! Steal! :)

If you know any bargain stores for accessories or gift shops please share it and comment on this post! I'd like to know a few spots if you don't mind!

That'll be all! Goodluck and happy shopping girls!
