Duct tape: My New Bestfriend !

Okay, its summer vacation, and I have nothing else to do but sit at home and do,, hm,let me think.....NOTHING!!!! Im practically going to die out of boredom!

So, while I was killing time, I came across this video tutorial on YouTube on how to make a purse out of duct tape, staples and old t-shirt. The link for the vid is right  here.

But since Im so bored I made a tutorial as well here on my blog. I know, waste of time, but it really beats doing nothing.

The outcome of my creation is right here:

Cutie-patootie, right??? Its pretty easy to. All you need is:

  • Old t-shirt
  • Scissors
  • Staples
  • Duct tape (Man's greatest creation accdg to History channel)
  • Pen
  • Ruler
  • Some old necklace for additional designs

First, turn your tee inside out. Then cut the sleeves.

Then start covering the whole shirt with  duct tape. Make sure that every part of the shirt is covered. You can iron the shirt first before doing this to remove the crease.

After covering everything, cut off the excess. Also, cut the neckline.

Then, hold the middle of the neckline and fold. This part is very important. Be certain that when you fold it, all the edges are aligned.

With your ruler and pen, make a straight line at the bottom. Then start closing it with staples. From one edge to the other.

After that, cut off one half inch from the staples that you did and cover again with the duct tape. This is to prevent being cut with the sharp edges of the staple wire and also for reinforcement.

Next, fold it back to how it used to look. Like the tank top. You'll have to fold it neatly so all edges are aligned.

Then, make a line at the bottom. Do the same on the other.

Staple it again.

Cut off the excess then cover with duct tape.

Turn it right side out.

Now, you can add anything you like. I sew in an old necklace for accent.

So that's it. You can now enjoy using your new duct tape bag.

Share this blog post on your account if you like. That would be really appreciated.

Until next time! Bye!
